What is automating a task worth to you?

Put in the hours a repetitive job takes and what that time costs you. The calculator shows the hours you'd get back in a year, what they're worth, and how quickly a fixed-price automation pays for itself. No email needed.

This values staff time at what it costs you. It's time freed up, not guaranteed cash saved, and it leaves out things you haven't entered, such as how quickly people adopt the change.

How it's worked out

  • Hours back a year = hours a week × 52 × the share automation takes off you.
  • What that time is worth = hours back × what an hour costs you.
  • Year one = that value, minus the build, minus twelve months of any ongoing support.
  • Each year after = the value minus ongoing support. The build is paid once.
  • Pays for itself = the build divided by what you gain each week after ongoing costs.

A worked example

Someone spends 5 hours a week on a task, an hour of their time costs £25, and automation takes 60% of it off them. That's 156 hours a year, worth £3,900. With our Starter build at £249 and no ongoing support, year one comes to £3,651 and it pays for itself in about 3 weeks.

Questions

Is the result money I'll save?

Not directly. It's the cost of the staff time the automation frees up. Whether that becomes a saving depends on what the time is used for instead: more client work, fewer overtime hours, or not hiring for the busy months.

What should I put for the hourly cost?

What an hour of that person's time costs you: their pay plus on-costs such as employer National Insurance and pension. If you're not sure, use their hourly pay; the real figure is higher.

How much of a task can automation take off me?

It depends on the task. Some run almost entirely on their own once set up; others still need a person to check or decide. Treat the percentage as a scenario and try a low and a high figure. On the free call we look at the task with you and give you a realistic number.

What do the build prices include?

They're our fixed prices for automation: Starter (£249): One workflow, one problem solved; Professional (£649): A whole process, start to finish; Business (£1,199): Your operations, systemised. Full details are on the pricing page.

Is anything I type stored?

No. The sums run in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere. If you ask for a tailored assessment, the contact form sends your message like any other.
